Joined by Calgary’s top musicians - bassist Stefano Valdo and drummer Robin Tufts, pianist Andréa Petrity and her trio are back for another Good Friday Jazz evening at Lolita’s!
For the occasion Andréa and her group will be performing tunes off of her her recently released debut CD, “It’s About Time” and will also include original material and some new arrangements on a variety of tunes which include standards and some lesser known pieces.
“Writing and coming up with new ideas for arrangements is very exciting to me. I simply try to challenge myself on a musical level and to create arrangements that are fresh, exciting, memorable to audiences and true to myself.”
Andréa’s debut CD, “It’s About Time” was recorded in August 2014 and include Stefano Valdo and Robin Tufts as well as saxophonist Pat Belliveau. The CD release show was at the National Music Centre on November 21, 2014.
Since the release her CD has been on the top ten list on Canadian College Radio charts, has reached #1 on CJSW Radio charts, #20 on CKUA Radio’s Top 30 Playlist charts and has had airplay on CBC Radio. Andréa has also appeared as guest for performances and interviews on CJSW.
